The owner chef, Anne, is a Korean Kiwi who has been making a variety of Korean food for more than 40 years. She is not only an accredited chef for Korean traditional food as well as Korean Royal Palace food, but also is a very experienced chef for Korean contemporary, casual, and street foods. She owned and operated an iconic contemporary Korean restaurant in Samsung Electronics R&D Complex in Seoul, Korea. As Korean foods and Korean Fried Chickens are becoming popular boosted by K-Pop, K-Drama/Movies, Anne moved to New Zealand with her husband, Seth, and opened a small pilot shop for Korean Fried Chicken at The Crossing, central Christchurch, in 2022 to test and introduce her healthy home-style Korean Fried Chicken to New Zealand locals as well as many overseas travellers from all around the world.
The pilot shop was simply called "The Chicken-Korean Fried Chicken" aiming at an unparalleled taste but affordable in prices in a most healthiest possible way. Therefore, the chicken was boneless, skin-less, and fat-less without any commercial sauces which is quite unique even among the typical Korean Fried Chickens. The response from customers was enormous and the shop ranked the top Fried Chicken joint in New Zealand in just 2 years of operation by Google Review rating of 4.9 out of over 500 reviews. There are a variety of regular customers not only from New Zealand locally but also from all over the world including Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Spain, Germany, USA, etc...
